About
A Multi-Talented Musician
Annabel is an accomplished flautist and piccoloist, having studied at Bath Spa University and recently finished her post as Music Assistant at Alleyn's School in London. Now based in Bedfordshire, Annabel is looking for performance opportunities in and around the area to build her musical contacts and existing musical experience.
Originally brought up in Bedfordshire, Annabel has been playing the flute since the age of 10 and has continued to love music ever since. As a child, her hobbies included dance and music where she learnt she enjoyed performing in front of an audience. Prior to learning the flute, she started attending regular dance classes at Tina's School of Dance in Luton where they most famously performed at the Grove Theatre in Dunstable for their annual shows. Despite loving both hobbies, Annabel decided to pursue a musical career. Having gained Music GCSE and A Level, she continued her love for the subject by studying Music and Psychology at Bath Spa University, specialising in music performance. Her dream is to become a full-time musician in an professional orchestra.

Her love for music is expressed through her participation in musical ensembles. She started attending Saturday Morning Music School in 2010; a music school run by the Luton Music Service which provides young musicians from different schools the opportunity to play together. This is where Annabel joined her first ensemble group, Junior Orchestra. Throughout the years, she progressed to join more challenging ensembles within the Luton Music Service, such as Luton Youth Orchestra, as well as ensembles outside i.e. Luton Concert Band. Annabel was a member of the Bath Spa University Orchestra, Wind Band, and Flute Ensemble playing the flute and piccolo as well as being an alto singer in the BSU Choir.
With distinction grades in ABRSM Grade 8 Flute and Grade 5 Music Theory, Annabel has a real passion for performing along with excellent knowledge in music theory. With the flute as her main instrument, she also enjoys singing despite not having any singing exams. In addition, Annabel has basic skills in piano and alto saxophone.
In terms of musical style, Annabel has always been classically trained. She enjoys playing and listening to the works of many French composers such as Ravel, Chopin, Debussy and Poulenc as well as other artists from the Romantic period. Contrastingly, she loves singing modern pop songs and musical theatre ballads!
For two years running, Annabel was the Musical Director for Bath Spa University Singers Society leading a small but passionate group of university students to express their love for music and singing. Alongside this role, Annabel spent her free time as a part-time music theory tutor teaching ABRSM Grades 1-5.

In 2021, Annabel was appointed as Music Assistant at Alleyn's School in Dulwich, London. During this one year position, she learnt about stage management, music administration and working within a thriving school environment.

Annabel is always willing to join and perform with ensemble groups in particular wind bands, big bands and classical orchestras. Also, Annabel is happy to dep flute or piccolo for rehearsal and concert performances. Previous examples include depping for concerts with Letchworth Sinfonia in November 2022 and March 2023.
